Polonia Cricket Club hosted an ICC / ECC Coaching weekend over the the 8th/9th February 2004. Sixteen people from all over the west of Poland participated in the event, which was led by Philip Hudson, an International Cricket Council (ICC) European Development Officer from England. The course lasted 10 hours and was spread over Saturday and Sunday. Participants included some of our regular club players, local school teachers, and a couple people who hope to found their own cricket clubs in other parts of Poland. Two or three of those taking part had never played cricket before the event. By the end of the weekend, although tired, everyone had acquired a good grasp of the basics of cricket and more importantly now had some idea how one might teach others the same. All those who completed the full ten hours will receive the internationally recognised 'ECC Introductory Coaching Certificate'.
